Hair Transplant Cost: UK vs Turkey (2026)

A Turkey hair transplant costs around £1,500 to £3,500 before travel. Most UK clinics charge £3,000 to £15,000. Once flights, hotel and time off work are added, a typical Turkey trip lands at about £3,000. Sapphire FUE with us starts from £3,299 in London, for up to 4,000 grafts, with PRP and full aftercare included.

Average prices in 2026

Wimpole Clinic sent the same patient photos to 104 UK clinics and 87 clinics in Istanbul and compared the quotes. For a 1,500-graft FUE procedure, the average UK quote was £4,820 and the average Istanbul quote was £1,464.

The NHS puts the full UK range at £1,000 to £30,000, depending on how much hair loss you have, the technique and the clinic. Hair transplants are cosmetic surgery, so they are not available on the NHS.

Why our price sits closer to Turkey than to Harley Street

Most UK patients assume a London transplant means £5,000 or more. Our partner clinic in Chiswick runs one surgery per day, and the price is set close to the real cost of a Turkey trip.

  • Sapphire FUE from £3,299 and DHI from £3,999
  • Up to 4,000 grafts, with extra grafts on the day at no extra cost
  • GMC-registered surgeons
  • PRP on the day, full aftercare and a complimentary meal
  • Partner clinic named Hair Restoration Clinic of the Year: Prestige Awards 2024 and 2025, Diamond Distinction Awards 2026

When Turkey can still make sense

If you have researched one specific surgeon, confirmed they perform the key steps themselves, and you are comfortable handling aftercare remotely, Turkey can work. The problems we hear about most come from high-volume clinics where the surgeon is barely involved. Whichever route you choose, ask who will make the incisions and how many patients are booked that day.

FAQs: UK vs Turkey hair transplant cost

How much does a hair transplant cost in the UK in 2026?

Most UK clinics charge between £3,000 and £15,000. A Wimpole Clinic survey of 104 UK clinics found an average of £4,820 for 1,500 grafts. With us, Sapphire FUE starts from £3,299 and DHI from £3,999, for up to 4,000 grafts, with PRP and full aftercare included.

How much does a hair transplant cost in Turkey?

Advertised packages usually sit between £1,500 and £3,500. The same Wimpole survey of 87 Istanbul clinics found an average of £1,464 for 1,500 grafts. Flights, hotel, transfers and time off work typically add £700 to £1,000 on top.

Is it cheaper to get a hair transplant in Turkey once travel is included?

Usually only slightly. A typical Turkey trip comes to around £3,000 all in. Our Sapphire FUE starts from £3,299 for up to 4,000 grafts, with PRP and aftercare included, and no flights or hotel to pay for.

Why are UK hair transplants more expensive?

Higher surgeon, staff and premises costs, plus UK regulation. Many UK clinics also treat fewer patients per day, which raises the cost of each procedure. We perform one surgery per day.

Is a hair transplant available on the NHS?

No. The NHS classes hair transplants as cosmetic surgery, so they are paid for privately.

What happens if my Turkey hair transplant goes wrong?

You would usually need to pursue the clinic through the Turkish legal system, which is hard from the UK. Corrective work at a UK clinic is often more expensive than the original procedure.
